Abstract
Banisteriopsis is one of the most diversified genera of Malpighiaceae within the Brazilian territory with ca. 45 species. After six years of field trips and herbaria studies, it was possible to recognize eight species of Banisteriopsis in the state of Espírito Santo. We present morphological descriptions, an identification key, illustrations, distribution maps and comments on distribution, ecology, phenology and taxonomy of all species.
