Abstract
The author describes four new Brazilian species Jacaranda Jussieu (Bignoniaceae): Jacaranda alagoensis It. Vattimo n. sp. collected in the Brazilian States of Alagoas; Jacaranda duckei It. Vattimo n. sp., from the States of Pará and Maranhão; Jacaranda bahiensis It. Vattimo n. sp. and Jacaranda purpurea It. Vattimo n. sp., from the State of Bahia. Data are given about the morphology: Jacaranda bahiensis has subovate at bases cordate and bullate leaflets, with the tomentose lower epidermis; Jacaranda purpurea has subelliptical and sub-bullate leafletes and the diminutive hairs pedicellate-capitate-glandulous or puberulous segregate yellow substance; Jacaranda duckei has ovato-lanceolate and planes leaflets with the minutely puberulous lower epidermis and Jacaranda alagoensis has elliptic and bullate leaflets with subtomentose lower epidermis.
