Abstract

The Rubus L. genus, widely spread out in temperate zones, displays just a few species in Brazil. The present work consists in the study of four species and two varieties of the genus that occurs in the State of Rio de Janeiro. A key to determine the species, besides a full description of the morphological characteristics, geographical distribution maps and photos of the exsicate-type of Rubus, is shown in this work, where on tried to observe the vegetative and reproductive characteristics, of each species, followed by information about the behaviour of R. rosifolius J. Smith var. rosifolius in relation visiting insects.
