Abstract
This study presents the floristic treatment for the taxa of Leguminosae recorded in the canga vegetation of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará state. Seventy four specific/infraspecific taxa were inventoried in the study area, this includes both native and established adventive species, belonging to 34 genera, of which Mimosa (11 species), Chamaecrista (7), Dioclea (5) and Senna (5), are the most representative. Mimosa skinneri var. carajarum Barneby is considered endemic to the ironstones outcrops in the mountain range of Serra dos Carajás. Identification keys, morphological descriptions and illustrations, as well geographical distribution, habitat and comments are provided for all species. Data about nodulation and potential use in areas altered by mining activities were included either in the taxon or generic commentary.
