Abstract
The present study comprises species of Cactaceae that occur on iron-stone (canga) substrate at Serra dos Carajás, in the Brazilian Pará state, including detailed descriptions, illustrations and comments on the morphology of the species. Two species were recorded in the study area, Cereus hexagonus, a rupicolous species growing on ferruginous rocks known as canga, and the epiphytic, widely spread Epiphyllum phyllanthus.
