Abstract
Rutaceae is represented in the Serra dos Carajás by 20 species belonging to 15 genera. Only eight species were recorded in the areas of canga, while the remaining ones are found only in the forests or in transitional areas between the canga vegetation and the adjacent “terra firme forest”. Pilocarpus and Zanthoxylum are represented in the canga areas by two species each, while the remaining genera have only one species recorded (Dictyoloma, Ertela, Esenbeckia and Spiranthera). Identification keys, morphological descriptions, illustrations and taxonomic comments are presented for the species found on canga substrate.
