Abstract
A taxonomic study of Metteniusaceae of the cangas of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará state, Brazil, is presented. One species was recorded: Emmotum nitens, distributed in South America, with records in Brazil and Bolivia. A detailed morphological description, illustrations, photographs, notes on morphology, distribution and phenology of the species are presented.
