An investigation was carried out to evaluate the bonding strength between acrylic teeth and heat-cured denture acrylic resin. The teeth were fixed in resin blocks and lathe milled to a cylinder shape of 5 mm of diameter. A wax pattern with the same diameter was adapted on the top of the cylinder and then invested in a flask. Following the conventional denture base resin procedures, the wax pattern was eliminated and heat-cured resin was packed. The variables were: two acrylic teeth brands; two resin phases (full dough and rubber); cleaning or not of the flask with detergent; application or not of monomer over the teeth before resin packing. After polymerization specimens were stored in water at 37ºC, for 2 weeks. Tests were performed by tensile loads. The results showed that teeth brands and resin phases did not influence data; the use of monomer or detergent increased strengths, and when used together the effects were cumulative.
