Dentin hypersensitivity is an exacerbated sensitivity of dentin when exposed to the oral environment, becoming permeable to the action of aggressive stimuli. Diagnosis is realized through anamnesis and attentive clinical investigation. Treatment is carried out professionally or by the patient himself, depending on the case. Its incidence is common towards the end of the third decade, and it is slightly more frequent in women than in men.
