Abstract: This work aims to highlight the religious diversity in Buenos Aires, a city that, as the rest of Argentina, has been historically signed by Catholicism. This visibility is addressed through three perspectives. First, differences and specificities are sought by contrasting statistical indicators of religious belief, self-identification, and practice between Buenos Aires and other agglomerations in the country. Second, we delve into a socio-historical approach to account for diversity. Finally, ways of quantifying the relevance of the various religious groups are problematized, through a territorial approach that counts the places of worship currently present in the city and then from believers that attend worship.
