Abstract: This article was written in honor of Cecilia Mariz on her retirement from UERJ. It recovers part of Mariz’s academic production, highlighting the studies of Catholicism and Pentecostalism. I highlighted Mariz’s international partnerships in her career and her fruitful contribution to the Sociology of Religion of the Weberian matrix.
