Religion and Media: notes on research and future directions for interdisciplinary study

This article presents an overview of “religion and media”, an interdisciplinary field of research inquiry that brings together scholarship in anthropology, communication studies, art history, and religious studies, among others. The article provides an account of the current state of the field and it also outlines some of the key topics, questions, and debates that have defined research in this area. The article concludes by proposing some questions and proposals for new research directions in religion and media.
