Displaying minority: the visual policy of a Pentecostal mission in northen Argentine

Abstract: The work analyzes the visual policy of a Pentecostal mission in the north of Argentina, deployed in the last decade and exhibited at the institution's centennial celebrations in 2016. Based on ethnographic research, the study observes the ways in which bodies, spaces , images and speeches sought to (re) legitimize the public presence of the institution and consolidate it as an active religious minority in the local municipality and in the provincial regional space. The article integrates a double conceptual discussion on minoritization, pluralism and public configuration of the religious, on the one hand, and on the agency of objects and images in the construction of religious belonging, on the other.
