Abstract: Here, are described the elements that made Marcos Witt, be one of the most relevant evangelical musicians in the development of what we call "the new evangelical song”. Likewise, it is exposed how his musical production, associated with the context of the evangelical phenomenon, and the globalization of the music industry, influenced the emergence of characteristic musical resources of the movement. Those who permeated the classical Pentecostalism and influenced the neopentecostal phenomenon. Is used a qualitative case study methodology, with survey of primary and secondary sources on the subject, along with interviews with announcers of evangelical radio stations of the 1990s. And, as an additional element, song lyrics were analysed. The importance of Marcos Witt in the new evangelical song is concluded, as the promoter of neo-Pentecostalism in the music industry.
