The authors present the results of a serological survey for poliovírus 1, 2, 3 and Coxsackie B1 - B6 in the locality of Ferreira Gomes, Amapá, Brazil. Results as shown on Table I suggest a circulation of poliovirus in the region as high as in Guanabara State, the same occuring in relation to Coxsakie B; however titers considering Coxsakie B5. were higher in the Amapá region than in Guanabara. The needs for a large scale program of polio vaccination in susceptible population are stressed.
