The authors study the treatment of 127 cases of tetanus with mephenesine and 84 with diazepam. There is no statistically significant difference in mortty between the patients medicated with diazepam and those submitted to mephenesine therapy. Diazepam is safe to use, easy to employ and does not cause endophlebitis.
