Certain problems related to the use of safety belts remain unsolved, important among them being the exact determination of forces acting on cables. Various methods of calculation, severely limited because of the way in which they are applied, are presented. Three methods with a view to surpassing these limits are presented and another for the calculation of the forces acting on a cable is perfected. One of these methods is applicable in developing countries.
