Chelated foliar fertilizers and salts in the absortion of boron, manganese and zinc by 'Pera' orange trees

To compare the of chelated foliar fertilizers with salt conventional application in the absorption of boron, manganese and zinc in orange ‘Pera’ trees (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck). The experiment was carried out at the Soil Science Department of the School of Agriculture Sciences - UNESP/Botucatu, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Two-year old orange ‘Pera’ (Citrus limonia Osbeck) trees grafted on ‘Rangpur’ lime (Citrus limonia Osbeck), planted in boxes of 250 liters of soil were used. The experiment was a completely randomized design, with 3 replications and 2 plants per replication. The foliar fertilizers tested were: Grex Citros at the dosage of 1.0 mL L-1; Copas citros 2.0 mL L-1; Plantin Citros 1.0 mL L-1; Citrolino 2.0 mL L-1; Fertamin Citros 1.75 mL L-1; Yogen Citros 2.0 mL L-1, MS-2 1.0 mL L-1; Salt, Salt + 1.0 g L-1 of KCl and Salt replacement of ZnSO4 by ZnCl2. Application volume was 1 liter of solution per plant, using 0.03% of Alkylphenol-Etoxylated surfactant. Leaves were samples 30 days after treatment, collecting the 3RD or 4TH leaf of vegetative branches at the start of flowering, in the 4 quadrants, localized in medium region of the plant, totalizating 10 leaves per plant. The micronutrient foliar application, increased absorption and foliar contents of Mn and Zn, but not B. The presence of chloride increased the concentration of Zn in leaves in relation to sulfate or sulfate plus potassium chloride. Results also showed that Yogen and MS-2, were not efficient as source of Mn in this study.
