ENRAIZAMENTO DE ESTACAS LENHOSAS DE CULTIVARES DE AMEIXEIRA (Prunus spp.), EM CONDIÇÕES DE CAMPO

The present work was conducted to evaluate the effect of two concentrations (0 and 3,000ppm) of indolbutyric acid (IBA) on the rooting of cuttings of seven plum cultivars (All Producer, Ace, Sangal, Roxa de Itaquera, Frontier, Reubennel and Beauty), excised from 8-year plants. The experiments were performed in Pelotas, RS, Brazil, and cuttings were taken from the stems of the last growth period and taken to field begining July 1994. The results varied strongly among cultivars. There was no significant influence of IBA on the emission of roots. In the cultivars Ace, Sangal and Roxa de Itaquera, the rate of rooting was above 60% with 3,000ppm of IBA. For the cultivars All Producer and Frontier the maximum were 25.7 and 20.2% of rooting, respectively. In the cultivar Beauty the percentage of rooting without and with 3,000ppm of IBA were 37.3 and 21.2%, respectively. For the cultivar Reubennel, although not showing significant influence of IBA, the percentual of rooting in the concentration for 3,000ppm (30,1%) was much higher than that obtained with no IBA, (6,2%).
