The present article aims at depicting the urban issue as mode and condition of life in the city. It relates a few perspectives of the discussion to the worsening of sanitary conditions and the several consequences for the survival of individuals and groups. It aims at placing the problem within "flexible capitalism", fragmentation and rhethoric of "quality" in the scenario of contemporaneous daily life.
