The followings subjects came up from the focal group dynamic: the professional choice and the language & hearing sciences, the hospital insertion, the hospital practices and experiences, the connection with the elder and the aging. The results of the research points out that the professional identity of those who work with elders in hospitals was constructed with reference in the bio-medical model and that the actuation field is directly related with the manner that the working class is able to extrapolate this model and re-construct its identity putting the technique as much as the emotion on service of the profession. The hospital, brave place in world of olds, is the place where the professional is engaged in carrying out his functions and shows his competency to preserve lives, but this place gives almost no support to face some of the crucial issues of the existence, such as aging, diseases, limitation and death.
