Institutionalizing the evaluation in organizations and research agencies: an exemplary case study

This article analyzes the organizational structure and the support tools of the evaluation policy of the International Development Research Centre, aiming to contribute to the management and use of knowledge in the context of researches stimulated by the Policy of Health Science and Technology in Brazil. It takes for granted the framework about institutionalization of evaluation and presents its contribution to learning and acquisition of knowledge, enhancing its potentiality to strengthen local capacities of research and innovation. It considers the relevance of evaluation in the management of research projects and production of results through an approach that levels rigorous evaluation methods, with the use of the findings resulting from them.
