This qualitative study was exploratory, involving 10 female professionals in Pau dos Ferros/RN. A semi-structured interview was applied. This research aimed to know the sexual practice, to analyze the vulnerability of female sex workers and to assess their health needs. From the content analysis, thematic category, the activity was perceived as a profession for its income generation. Family acceptance is an obstacle and visits to the health unit boils down to exams or Pap smears. It is important to proram actions that improve health knowledge, rights and duties under health and citizenship, providing improved healthcare into this category.
