The violence of gender from the standpoint of health professionals of Basic Attention

This is a descriptive qualitative study in order to identify and analyze the concepts that guide the practices of a team of Family Health, in João Pessoa (PB), about gender violence. The empirical material was produced through interviews with professionals, whose speeches were analyzed according to the proposed by Fiorin. It was evidenced the invisibility of violence as a health problem in the service, which may contribute to the development of professional practices with no potential for gender emancipation. We emphasize the need for change and reorientation of work processes in attention to women in situations of violence.
