Abstract:
This article reviews the health/disease/care process of men in the contributions of different theoretical perspectives that seek to understand the dialectics of change, resistance and permanence. It steps back from the wealth of epidemiological information evidencing the cluster of health problems that men suffer and generate, in order to reflect, from other theoretical perspectives, on the ways in which men take or do not take care of their health, and their reasons why. The final aim is to provide elements for research and public policy on the topic.
