It is of major significance for geographical research a systemic analysis regarding the need to understand relationships and dynamics between society and nature. From this perspective, this paper makes a discussion on concepts of ecosystem and geosystem, aiming to present the geosystemic entity as a unique concept for the analysis of environmental dynamics in the geographical scope. This topic supported geographical science in understanding the structure, standard and operation of socio-environmental interactions, promoting interdisciplinary work, and extracting from the environment diagnosis and prognosis about geosystemic weaknesses and strengths in different temporal-spatial scales of analysis and complexity.
