This article presents a survey of fire detection occurring in the state of Rondônia in 2007. This work was performed as part of the monitoring of fire detection in the area of coverage of the Regional Center of Porto Velho (CR-PV) of the Amazon Protection System (SIPAM). There were thematic crossings that enable the analysis of fires, under the important aspects for understanding the dynamics of their use as a tool for cleaning the grass and opening up new areas, among other purposes, in the state of Rondônia. So this work provides material support to the revaluation of shares held during the year by the responsible agencies as well as serve the reorganization of strategies to prevent this for the year (2008), having a look upon, indicatives of the critical areas that need of greater assistance.
