Open-access Theory through refusal: Homo Modernus and the necessary debate on the theoretical impossibility of hegemonic Sociology

Abstract

The article presents a critical review of the latest book in Portuguese by Denise Ferreira da Silva. Beyond the description of the intellectual history of the hegemonic social theory subject, the Homo Modernus, as racialized and exclusionary, the oeuvre should be interpreted as a theoretical and methodological advancement for sociology and the social sciences in a global scale.
