This paper aims to retake the path of the local development problematic since the studies on diffuse industrialization until the most recent political modalities and territorial decentralized programs of the 1990´s. From the analytical point of view, the article aims at showing the conceptual displacement produced by the incorporation of structure governance issues and social regulation mechanisms. From the empirical point of view, it analyses the profile of the interventions based on the logic of social concertation in the case of territorial pacts in Italy, underlining your innovations, diversity and the weight of historical and political-institutional dimensions.
