This article considers various Ministry of Health documents and contributions by members of the Intra-Sectorial Commission on Workers' Health, created to integrate and harmonize the work of various sectors of the São Paulo State Secretariat of Workers' Health to address the issue of health and labor. This commission developed the Action Plan for Workers' Health for the State of São Paulo (for the years 2002-2003-2004), which set as its top priority the creation of a model for workers' health that envisioned a network of technical references for treatment, prevention, and training.
