The invisibility of mental health problems in primary care: nursing work constructing paths in family health teams

This study is related to a nurse working experience in family health team. It aims to present alternatives that give visibility to those with mental disturbs in this attention model. Data was firstly obtained through Cadastre Forms, filled by Health Community Agents. We observed that problems related to mental suffering were sub-notified. An active search was proposed through Health Community Agents, using their informal knowledge, besides cadastre. This action increased and diversified problems identified at initial cadastre, from 19 (nineteen) to 43 (forty-three), from which 39 (thirty-nine) were confirmed through consultation with specialist. After prescription of appropriate therapeutic conduct, family health team re-oriented its actions, qualifying its services to patients and family members, contributing to care demystification in relation to ones with mental disturbs.
