Perspective on current society's lifestyle and its implications for human health

Currently, socio-economic, political, cultural, and religious aspects influence the human living process. The study shows high indexes of human development in regions of Europe, North America, and Oceania while in Latin America, Asia, and Africa low indexes prevail. In Brazil the best values are found in the Southern and Southeastern States and the lowest are in Northern and Northeastern States. Several international agencies and funding agencies have developed policies that aim to balance these differences. In this study we attempt to understand, reflect, and become more conscious that the living process, including health-related aspects, depends on social structure and effective political actions directed to reduce the differences and promote human beings. Health, living process, individual dimension and social life are interconnected inexorably in this worldview.
