Social perception of suicide-risk categories among german colonists in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul

This article has the objective to contribute to the understanding of individuals belonging to rural descendants of Germans, the self-named colonists, who identify, explain and work with the mental problem that involves suicide. The methodology consisted of an ethnography. The approach of Anthropology in Health made it possible that through narratives of the differentiation of a case of the nerves suicide-risk categories were established. The understanding of the life context is indispensable so that the professionals of the health-care system have a crediblen intervention to this group of colonists.
