Evaluation of the acceptance of the "born already" chair for pregnant women

This study aimed to verify the acceptance of the "BornAlready"chair for customers and to reflect on the implications of this equipment during the gestational period. The study is exploratory, descriptive, and has a quantitative approach. The study was developed in a Health Center of Fortaleza where, to make the implantation of a new assistance model, the researches turned to the humanization of the prenatal assistance and the use of the obstetric "Born Already"chair possible, a room was built with appropriate physical space. Pregnant women between 15 and 40 years-old that didn't refer to pathological antecedents, and that apparently vaginal childbirth was not inadvisable for bringing on life risk to themsalves or to the fetus; that didn't have contraindication for physical exercises and that participated, at least, in eight sessions of exercises in the BornAlready" chair during the gestational period were selected for inclusion in the study. At the end of their participation each pregnant woman in the investigation evaluated the male nurse team that gave humanized assistance during the prenatal, using the obstetric "BornAlready" chair. It was concluded that the acceptance of the obstetric "BornAlready" chair as a piece of equipment for the accomplishment of exercises by pregnant women is viable and well-accepted for customers.
