Abstract:
From a monarchist to a Bolivian citizen, with or without command positions, Sebastián Ramos played a trajectory on the border between Bolivia and the Empire of Brazil that allows us to perceive institutional games and private attitudes on the margins of the two countries under construction. On several occasions he was the most advanced person in Bolivian territory to challenge the progressive advance of the Empire, before an official treaty of limits. On the other hand, their positions in the border zone served as justification for Brazil to take land to the west.
