Open-access To cure as art and occupation: contributions for a historiography's debate about health, disease and cures

Abstract

Although recent, the historian's interest in the study of the different cure practices along the Brazilian History has been solidifying in the last years. Such fact has opened space for researches in which the exercise and the use of most popular procedures of the arts of curing appear as main focus of study. This article presents a small inventory of these works, considering some of them in detail and pointing out their contributions, differences, similarities, as well as their indications concerning a possible formulation of a researching agenda of the theme.
