SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION IN APPLIED LINGUISTICS: CONTRIBUTIONS TO BASIC EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

This article shows an approach to scientific education designed to help innovate the teaching of Portuguese as a mother tongue based on investigative practices in basic schools. The proposal was built collaboratively by elementary school teachers and higher education professors, members of a research project linked to a Brazilian government program designed to strengthen students’ scientific education. ) and written impressions about the referred project, shared by teachers in continuing education. This is a study situated in the antidisciplinary field of applied linguistic studies. The pedagogical proposal materialized in the production of some instruments that mediate student learning, among which stand out a didactic unit, a pedagogical planning circuit informed by the scientific education approach and a virtual grammar study laboratory.
