ABSTRACT
The article discusses the conflicts over certain lands in Minas Gerais, in order to understand some forms of mobilization and memories that enabled the re-articulation of these struggles, especially between the 1960s and 1980s. The disputes over the Fazenda do Ministério (Governador Valadares-MG) and Cachoeirinha (Varzelândia-MG) were investigated, both of which are emblematic in the struggle for agrarian reform in the state. Reflecting on the specificities and similarities between these two processes, we seek to understand the variety and complexity of these mobilizations, as well as some of their broader outlines. The investigation showed that these struggles, at times, counted on the participation of organizations and social movements, which linked these specific conflicts to their broader banners, increasing their reach and, thus, the possibility of land conquest by rural workers.
