Bergson and the event. The case of war

Abstract:

This article intends to make a reading and analysis of the meaning of the notion of war in the context of a theoretical schema that permits the giving of a political image to the thought of Henri Bergson. It will be argued that this sort of notion of the limit of the term war has to be understood, in our hypothesis, through the conceptual terms of facticity, confirmation, and event. In sum, our argument will try to maintain that there is a political thought in Bergson, and that consequently it is inevitable for this philosopher take account of the reality of war as both historical and political data.
