Violated language and human mimesis in spectacular democracies. interlocutions with Giorgio Agamben

Abtract:

It is urgent that we deepen our critical analysis of the spectacular drift of current democracies. To contribute to this objective, in this essay we will analyze some aspects of Agamben´s research on spectacular democracy. In a second point we will develop an analysis of the language that, in the origin of politics, in ancient Greece, which proposed to create a new model of power based on the conviction of truth, and how this language later slid into instrumental techniques of truth in politics. In a third moment we will present the links of human mimesis with the spectacular drift of language in contemporary democracies.
