The Millennium Institute in the search for power

Abstract

We propose to analyze how the Millennium Institute seeks to establish its legitimacy, and, consequently, to delineate its position in the field of power. For this, we start from the investigation of the social profile of the more than 250 names listed on your website. We start with an analysis of the rhetoric spread by Imil at the time of its foundation, highlighting in which struggles the think tank invests; we examine the positions occupied by these agents by performing a Multiple Correspondence Analysis; then, with the Cluster Analysis we trace the four main groups with which Imil establishes its relationships. We conclude that this think tank still occupies a fragile position in the field of power, seeking to conquer its legitimacy by the mediation of a network of relations composed of journalists, businessmen, intellectuals and agents with state positions, constituents of an elite that operates in several social spaces.
