HOSPITALITY PRACTICES IN WINE TOURISM IN ANDRADAS (MG)

ABSTRACT:

This article analyzes the wine tourism of Andradas (MG) from the perspective of the performance of local wineries, examined based on their visitation practices associated with hospitality, welcoming and commensality. This is a qualitative study that uses bibliographic research, direct non-participant observation in wineries and in the municipality of Andradas (MG), and semi-structured interviews with managers of wineries that open their doors to visitors, and one government representative. The main results are: the important role of wineries in the development of wine tourism; the identification of different types of structure and visitation programs offered by wineries; the presence of hospitality and welcoming in the visits offered, being carried out in a more organic way than planned; the presence of the commensality, mainly in the wine tastings that are offered during the visits; and the need for public and private investment to develop the tourism potential of this sector.
