This paper discusses the process of insertion and training of the female workforce in the textile industry in Minas Gerais State in the late nineteenth century, and for this purpose the Company of Textiles and Spinning Cedro e Cachoeira will be analyzed. As also happened in many other textile factories, women have been for a long time the largest group of employees of that Company. Working as spinners and weavers, the women often started working at a young age, spending much of their life inside the factories, being part of a relationship that taught them to be workers and at the same time, educated them from certain cultural values, being the religion a relevant issue in this context. In this sense, reflections will be searched in order to understand how this process occurred in the daily life of plants, the aspects involved and their main implications for the lives of workers.
