1. Introduction
1.1 Objectives and scope
Revista Árvore is a scientific communication vehicle from Sociedade de Investigações Florestais – SIF. This open access journal is peer reviewed and bimonthly publishes scientific value papers from the field of Forest Science. The thematic areas for publication are Forest Environment and Nature Conservation, Forest Management, Silviculture and Wood Technology and Forest Products Utilization. 1.2 Thematic areas and subjects published by Revista Árvore
The acceptance criteria include:
1.4 Publication charge Revista Árvore informs that the papers publication charge is R$ 800.00 for payments in Brazil and US$ 320.00 for international payments. The charge will be applied to papers accepted for publication and will be valid for papers submitted to the journal from March 23, 2022. There will be no charge during the manuscript submission process and peer review. 1.5 Declaration of presentation In the submission, author(s) must present a declaration with the following content:
1.6 Language (usage and editing services) The manuscript can be submitted in Portuguese or in English. However, all accepted articles will be published in English only. In this case, the authors will perform the translation into English at his own and have to send a declaration that a certified company or professional has performed the translation. 1.7 Open access Articles are available for free to the general public. 1.8 Copyright and license To publish an article, including abstract, art, photograph and figure, the author must submit a declaration agreeing with the concession of copyrights or publication rights to Sociedade de Investigações Florestais (SIF). 1.9 Responsibility The scientific content as well opinions expressed in the published article are entirely responsibility of the authors and reflect their opinion, which do not represent, necessarily, the point of view of the Sociedade de Investigações Florestais (SIF) or the Editorial Committee. 1.10 Authors, identification of their institutions and acknowledgments The file attached in the submission system should not contain author(s) names, their institutions or acknowledgments, in order to avoid their identification by reviewers. There is an appropriate place in the submission system for this information. 1.11 Ethics Author(s) must attach a document approved by an Ethic Committee or an equivalent institution when research involves humans or animals. |
2. Manuscript preparation and submission
2.1. Submission letter Authors should explain the relevance or contribution of the manuscript to Forest Science. 2.2. Online submission In the first submission, authors should register in the SciELO platform, attempting to fill the author's field. If the online submission is not possible, contact the Office by e-mail rarvore@sif.org.br.com or call +55 (31) 3612-3959 for clarification. 2.3. 3. Structure and manuscript organization
Title, Authors, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (optional), and References. 3.1 Title It should be short, concise and informative (maximum of 20 words). Avoid acronyms and methods unless they are part of the research originality. 3.2 Authors and affiliations Authors’ names should not be part of the presented manuscript. In the submission process, there is an appropriated place to insert the names of the authors. Use full name, affiliations, e-mail and the ORCID. 3.3 Abstract The abstract should be structured as follows:
References and abbreviations are not accepted in this topic. 3.4 Keywords After abstract, indicate three keywords, separated by semicolon. Do not use words in plural, “or”, “and”, abbreviations and acronyms. Words from title are not accepted. Only the first letter of each keyword must be capitalized. 3.5 Introduction
Introduction should clearly indicate the importance of the problem and point out the knowledge gaps based on own knowledge and references. The originality of the research and its application should be concisely presented. The description of the introduction should justify each objective of the research. 3.6 Material and methods This section must support the necessary information in order to replicate the experimental work. For fieldwork, the study area should be described in detail, with geographic coordinates and maps, if needed. The models of any statistical analysis must be clearly explained. The main recommendations are:
3.7 Results Results must be clear and concise, outlining major findings. The results to be included are only those required to support the discussion and the conclusions. In this section, discussion should not be presented. Results should be described in the same order of the Material and Methods section. Detailed results can be presented as tables or figures and should not be repeated in the text. 3.8 Discussion
In this section, the author should discuss the meaning of the research results and not repeat them. The discussion must be confronted with relevant literature and be described in the same order of the presentation of the results. 3.9 Conclusions Conclusions should be concise, highlighting the main findings of the study according to the objectives Conclusion is considered one of the most important part of the manuscript. The main recommendations for making the conclusions are:
3.10 Acknowledgements (opitional) Acknowledgements must be concise and be limited to funding agencies or to other means of supporting research and, . should be included only in the submission procedure. 3.11 References Reference list should be included according to the style adopted by Revista Árvore, as already described. There is no fee for submitting and evaluating articles. |
