Abstract

REGO, Amilcar Arandas. Pentastomiasis in rodents of Bahia, identification of Porocephalus larvares. Mem. Inst. Oswaldo Cruz [online]. 1984, vol.79, n.3, pp.393-394. ISSN 1678-8060.  https://doi.org/10.1590/S0074-02761984000300019.

This note criticizes a misidentification of pentastomid nymphs identified as Armillifer moniliformis, found in a wild rodent, Zygogontomys pixuna from Bahia State. It is demonstrated that these nymphs belong to Porocephalus, probably P. crotali 9Humboldt, 1808).
