BANDEIRA, Ágda Nara Tavares; BAUTISTA, Hortensia Pousada; BURIL, Maria Teresa  e  MELO, José Iranildo Miranda de. Convolvulaceae from Engenheiro Ávidos Ecological Park, High Sertão from Paraiba, Brazilian Northeastern. Rodriguésia [online]. 2019, vol.70, e02252017.  Epub 19-Jun-2019. Convolvulaceae includes about 2,000 species distributed predominantly in the tropical region. In Brazil, approximately 400 species are recognized associated to the all phytogeographic domains, but predominating in open vegetation, as Cerrado and Caatinga. This work consists of a floristic-taxonomic study of Convolvulaceae in the Ecological Park Engenheiro Ávidos (PECEA), a State Conservation Unit located in the semi-arid region of Paraíba, in the Northeast Brazil region. Field trips were carried out between August/2014 and March/2016 and the specimens identified through the specialized literature. In the study area were found 20 species distributed in five genera: Ipomoea (10 species), Jacquemontia (four), Evolvulus (three), Distimake (two), and Cuscuta (one). Morphological descriptions and a key for separation of the species, as well as phenological data, geographic distribution based on literature and Virtual Herbarium Reflora and the preferred environments through field observations of the registered species are presented. Three species of Ipomoea constitutes new records for Paraíba: I. amnicola, I. incarnata and I. ramosissima, and Evolvulus flavus was recently described species as endemic from Paraiba state.
