RESUMO O artigo apresenta tendências da mobilidade ocupacional intergeracional de homens, mulheres, brancos e negros no Brasil usando dados de 1996 e 2014. As evidências indicam que mudanças nas famílias de origem - a crescente participação das mães no mercado de trabalho - estão estreitamente ligadas à diminuição da desigualdade racial nas chances de mobilidade intergeracional de filhas e filhos adultos.

ABSTRACT The article presents trends in the intergenerational occupational mobility of men, women, whites and blacks in Brazil using data from 1996 and 2014. Evidences suggest that changes in families of origin - the increasing participation of mothers in the labor market - are closely related to the reduction of racial inequality in the chances of intergenerational mobility of adult daughters and sons.

RESUMO A expansão de vagas e a promulgação da Lei n. 12.711 foram determinantes para a mudança no perfil dos estudantes nas Instituições de Ensino Superior federais públicas. Mas, pouco se sabe sobre as chances de conclusão e evasão dos alunos. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar os efeitos das desigualdades socioeconômicas nas chances de conclusão e evasão de negros e brancos a partir de um estudo de caso da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

ABSTRACT The expansion of vacancies and the enactment of Law no. 12.711 were decisive for the change in the profile of students in public federal Higher Education Institutions. But little is known about the students’ chances of completion and dropout. The objective of this article is to analyze the effects of socioeconomic inequalities on the chances of completion and dropout of blacks and whites, based on a case study from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

RESUMO Coletivos negros passaram a ter papel decisivo na recepção de estudantes cotistas e no controle das ações afirmativas nas universidades públicas, tornando-se atores relevantes no combate ao racismo sistêmico no ensino superior. Neste artigo, analisamos estratégias, organização, perfis e discursos em coletivos atuantes em três universidades para propor hipóteses interpretativas sobre a formação de novas identidades negras no Brasil.

ABSTRACT Black collectives started to play a decisive role in the reception of quota students and in the control of affirmative actions in public universities, becoming relevant actors in the fight against systemic racism in higher education. In this article, we analyze strategies, organization, profiles and discourses in collectives active at three universities to propose interpretive hypotheses about the formation of new black identities in Brazil.

RESUMO Após quinze anos de debate nacional sobre a implementação das ações afirmativas para negros e indígenas, sua efetividade ainda conta com grandes desafios. Um deles é sua eficácia no que toca à inclusão dos grupos beneficiários. Este artigo situa o debate nacional a partir de seus agentes e argumentos e toma o estudo de caso da comissão de heteroidentificação da Universidade Federal Fluminense, experiência pioneira no estado do Rio de Janeiro.

ABSTRACT After fifteen years of national discussion about implementing affirmative action policies for Black and Indigenous peoples, the policy’s effectivity faces challenges. One challenge is the efficacy of policies to include groups that should be beneficiaries. This article analyzes this national debate, policy actors and arguments, and takes the Universidade Federal Fluminense’s heteroidentification commission as a case study.

RESUMO Em artigo recente publicado na Novos Estudos Cebrap, Arminio Fraga sustenta que o Estado brasileiro, além de oneroso e ineficiente, atua no sentido de aprofundar a desigualdade. Diante disso, o economista propõe um conjunto de reformas visando à drástica redução da máquina pública. Nosso artigo procura, com base em argumentos teóricos e empíricos e em extensa literatura, refutar essa avaliação e apontar os riscos para as políticas econômicas e sociais trazidos pela agenda de reformas por ele sugerida.

ABSTRACT In a recent paper published in Novos Estudos Cebrap, Arminio Fraga maintains that the Brazilian State, in addition to being costly and inefficient, acts to deepen inequality. The economist proposes a set of reforms seeking its drastic reduction. Our article aims to refute this assessment, based on theoretical and empirical arguments and extensive literature, and to point out the risks to economic and social policies brought about by the suggested reform agenda.

RESUMO O texto reúne os fenômenos do criacionismo, do revisionismo histórico, das fake news e do direito autárquico sob a denominação de “perversão” e examina dois deles em detalhes para demonstrar a pertinência da classificação. Em seguida, o artigo argumenta que tais fenômenos são resultado da ação de ordens normativas autárquicas, cuja finalidade é estabelecer formas de vida hierárquicas e irracionais.

ABSTRACT This article gathers the phenomena of creationism, historical revisionism, fake news and local law under the name of “perversion” and examines two of them in detail to demonstrate the relevance of the classification. Next, the article argues that such phenomena are the result of the action of autarchic normative orders, whose purpose is to establish hierarchical and irrational forms of life.

RESUMO A Inteligência Artificial (IA) se configura como uma constelação de tecnologias capaz de gerar outras tecnologias, novas metodologias e aplicações e, por isso, suas características são de natureza distinta da de outras inovações. Seu desenvolvimento propõe questões relacionadas à ética de seus algoritmos, o que envolve processos de decisão nem sempre pautados pela transparência, contrastando por vezes com direitos de indivíduos e valores das sociedades.

ABSTRACT AI is a constellation of technologies able to generate other technologies, new methodologies and applications. Its characteristics are different in nature from other innovations that emerge in society. This essay approaches ai as the brain and engine of the current technological wave. And it addresses issues related to the ethics of algorithms, whose decision processes are not always transparent, in contrast to the rights of individuals and the values of societies.

RESUMO Este artigo visa caracterizar os padrões que regulavam a laicidade republicana e o secularismo católico no Brasil até a segunda metade do século xx e suas transformações atuais sob o impacto do pluralismo. Procuraremos demonstrar que, apesar de medidas laicizantes do Estado brasileiro ao longo da sua história, a religião católica e, mais recentemente, a religião em geral não perderam completamente seu poder de influência político-moral e que as tensões implicadas na expansão do pluralismo mais contemporaneamente não desalojaram o religioso do espaço social construído como secular.

ABSTRACT This article describes the postulates that guided Republican laity and Catholic secularism processes until the first half of the twentieth century and their current transformation under the impact of the intensification of religious diversity and their renewed public presence. We sought to demonstrate that, despite measures to establish a lay Brazilian state since the beginning of the Republican regime, the Catholic religion and, more recently, religions in general have not entirely lost their moral-political influence.

RESUMO Com base em Watt, de Samuel Beckett, o artigo traz uma reflexão sobre os caminhos do romance moderno, considerando três elementos: a paródia literária e filosófica na obra de juventude do autor; a dificuldade em determinar o foco narrativo; e o emprego de séries e combinatórias para questionar a organização do tempo romanesco sob a forma da ação.

ABSTRACT The article approaches Samuel Beckett’s Watt as a reflection on the paths of the modern novel. Three elements are highlighted: the literary and philosophical parody in the author’s early work; the difficulty in determining the narrative focus; and the use of series and combinations to question the organization of romanesque time in the form of action.
