This is to advise that the PAHEF Board of Trustees has voted to make the 1998 Soper Award to Joaquim Noroes et al for their article, Assessment of the efficacy of diethylcarbamazine on adult Wucheria bancrofti in vivo (Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 91,78-81, 1997).
PAHEF wishes to express its appreciation to those persons who submitted articles for the 1998 competition. The 1999 prize will be awarded for articles published during calendar 1998 in journals (from any country) included in the Index Medicus by authors whose principal affiliation is with teaching, service, or research institutions in Latin America or the Caribbean.
