RESUMO JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: A realidade virtual pode ter ação modulatória sobre a dor e o sistema nervoso autônomo. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar o efeito de dois estímulos diferentes de realidade virtual sobre o limiar de dor a pressão e a variabilidade da frequência cardíaca. MÉTODOS: Os voluntários sadios foram randomizados para dois grupos de realidade virtual, natureza e controle. Foram coletadas as medidas do limiar de dor a pressão pré e pós-estímulo e as medidas da variabilidade da frequência cardíaca pré, durante e após o estímulo de realidade virtual. Foi realizada a análise exploratória dos dados. O teste t foi utilizado para comparar o limiar de dor a pressão. Para as diferenças nas medidas da variabilidade da frequência cardíaca utilizou-se o modelo linear misto. O nível de significância adotado foi de 95%. RESULTADOS: O grupo realidade virtual natureza foi composto por 19 participantes com média de idade de 22,7±4,72 anos e o grupo realidade virtual controle foi composto por 22 participantes com média de idade de 21,13±2,42 anos. O grupo realidade virtual natureza apresentou um aumento do limiar de dor a pressão após realidade virtual e a diferença entre as médias foi de -0,41 [IC (95%)=-0,74 a -0,07; p=0,01]. Não houve diferença para os parâmetros da variabilidade da frequência cardíaca mensurados durante e após o estímulo de realidade virtual. CONCLUSÃO: O grupo que foi exposto a um estímulo de realidade virtual com cenas da natureza apresentou um aumento do limiar de dor. Não foram observadas diferenças na variabilidade da frequência cardíaca entre os grupos.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Virtual reality can have a modulatory action on pain and the autonomic nervous system. This study sought to verify the effect of two different VR stimuli on the pressure pain threshold and heart rate variability. METHODS: Healthy volunteers were randomized into two groups of virtual reality, nature and control. The pressure pain threshold was measured pre and post stimulus and heart rate variability measurements were collected pre, during and after virtual reality stimuli. The exploratory data analysis was performed. The t test was used to compare pressure pain threshold. For the differences in heart rate variability measurements, the linear mixed model was used. The level of significance adopted was 95%. RESULTS: The virtual reality nature group was composed of 19 participants with mean age of 22.7±4.72 years and the control virtual reality group was composed of 22 participants with mean age of 21.13±2.42 years. The virtual reality nature group showed an increase in the pressure pain threshold after virtual reality and the mean difference was -0.41 [CI (95%)= -0.74 to -0.07; p=0.01]. There was no difference in heart rate variability parameters measured during and after virtual reality stimulation. CONCLUSION: The group that was exposed to a virtual reality stimulus with scenes from nature showed an increase in the pressure pain threshold. There was no difference in heart rate variability between groups.

Abstract Introduction Therapeutic ultrasound (TUS) is a widespread modality in physiotherapy, and the water bag technique is a coupling method employed in the presence of anatomical irregularities in the treatment area. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the acoustic attenuation of the water bag and its effectiveness as a TUS coupling agent. Methods The rated output powers (ROPs) of the TUS equipment were evaluated based on IEC 61689. Then, a radiation force balance was used to measure ROP with and without a water bag (latex and nitrile gloves filled with deionized water) between a TUS transducer and the cone-shaped target of the balance. Each experiment was performed five times for each nominal power (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, and 7.0 W) and in the following configurations: without the water bag (A), with nitrile gloves and with (B) and without (C) a height controller, and latex gloves with (D) and without (E) height controller. ROPs obtained in different media were compared. Results The highest relative error of ROP was 16.72% for 0.5 W. Although the power values of the equipment were within the range recommended by IEC, there was a significant difference between the ROP values measured with A and with B, C and D. Conclusion As intensity differences below 0.5 W/cm2 are considered clinically not relevant, conditions A, B, C, D, or E can be used interchangeably.

Resumo Atualizamos a lista de mamíferos do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil com base em registros primários. Cento e sessenta e seis espécies são listadas como ocorrentes no estado, sendo 47 de mamíferos de médio e grande porte, 46 de pequenos mamíferos e 73 de morcegos. As espécies listadas estão distribuídas em 31 famílias: Didelphidae (17 spp.), Dasypodidae (7 spp.), Myrmecophagidae (2 spp.), Cebidae (1 sp.), Callithrichidae (2 spp.), Aotidae (1 sp.), Pitheciidae (1 sp.), Atelidae (1 sp.), Leporidae (1 sp.), Felidae (7 spp.), Canidae (4 spp.), Mustelidae (5 spp.), Mephitidae (2 sp.), Procyonidae (2 spp.), Tapiridae (1 sp.), Tayassuidae (2 spp.), Cervidae (4 spp.), Sciuridae (1 sp.), Cricetidae (22 spp.), Erethizontidae (1 sp.), Caviidae (3 spp.), Dasyproctidae (1 sp.), Cuniculidae (1 sp.), Echimyidae (4 spp.), Phyllostomidae (41 spp.), Emballonuridae (2 spp.), Molossidae (16 spp.), Vespertilionidae (9 spp.), Mormoopidae (1 sp.), Noctilionidae (2 spp) e Natalidade (1 sp.). Estes números representam um aumento de quatorze espécies com registro primário para o estado em comparação com a listagem publicada anteriormente. Ainda assim, é evidente a escassez de informações em diversas regiões do estado, e a necessidade de implementação de coleções zoológicas regionais. O estado de Mato Grosso do Sul representa apenas 4,19% do território brasileiro, mas o número de mamíferos atinge 24,13% do total de espécies que ocorrem no país.

Abstract We updated the checklist of mammals from Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil based on primary records only. One hundred and sixty-six mammal species were listed as occurring in the state, 47 of them being medium to large, 47 small mammal and 73 bat species. The listed species are distributed in 31 families: Didelphidae (17 spp.), Dasypodidae (7 spp.), Myrmecophagidae (2 spp.), Cebidae (1 sp.), Callithrichidae (2 spp.), Aotidae (1 sp.), Pitheciidae (1 sp.), Atelidae (1 sp.), Leporidae (1 sp.), Felidae (7 spp.), Canidae (4 spp.), Mustelidae (5 spp.), Mephitidae (2 spp.), Procyonidae (2 spp.), Tapiridae (1 sp.), Tayassuidae (2 spp.), Cervidae (4 spp.), Sciuridae (1 sp.), Cricetidae (22 spp.), Erethizontidae (1 sp.), Caviidae (3 spp.), Dasyproctidae (1 sp.), Cuniculidae (1 sp.), Echimyidae (4 spp.), Phyllostomidae (41 spp.), Emballonuridae (2 spp.), Molossidae (16 spp.), Vespertilionidae (9 spp.), Mormoopidae (1 sp.), Noctilionidae (2 spp.), and Natalidade (1 sp.). These numbers represent an increase of fourteen species with primary records for the state in comparison with the previously published checklist. However, it is evident the scarcity of information at several regions of the state, and the need of implementation of regional zoological collections. The state of Mato Grosso do Sul represent only 4.19% of the Brazilian territory, but the number of mammal species reach 24.13% of the known species occurring in the country.

A secagem de sementes de pepino é etapa obrigatória no seu beneficiamento, bem como o armazenamento para conquistar mercados competitivos e melhores oportunidades de preços. Portanto, o objetivo com este trabalho foi o de avaliar o desempenho fisiológico e bioquímico durante a secagem e armazenamento de sementes de pepino. A cultivar utilizada foi o híbrido de pepino Ômega comercializado pela Agristar Ltda. As sementes foram lavadas e secadas em temperatura ambiente de 25 ºC, 35 ºC e 45 ºC até atingir grau de umidade de 7%. As sementes foram embaladas em sacos de papel multifoliado e armazenadas em condições de ambiente não controlado. As avaliações da qualidade foram realizadas aos 0, 3, 6, 9 e 12 meses pelos testes de germinação, primeira contagem, condutividade elétrica e emergência de plântulas em bandeja. Avaliaram também as atividades enzimáticas de superóxido dismutase, catalase, esterase, lipoxigenase, isocitrato liase e proteína LEA, e por fim o teste de sanidade. A secagem de sementes de pepino, em temperatura ambiente, e a 35 ºC resulta em sementes de melhor qualidade. Ocorre redução da qualidade fisiológica das sementes e da atividade da proteína LEA a partir de seis meses de armazenamento, independente da temperatura de secagem.

The drying of seeds of cucumber is a compulsory stage in his improvement, as well as the storage to conquer competitive markets and better opportunities of prices. So the objective with this work valued the physiologic and biochemical performance during the drying and storage of seeds of cucumber. Cultivating used was the hybrid of cucumber Ômega marketed by the Agristar Ltda. The seeds were washed and dried at room temperature 25 ºC, 35 ºC and 45 ºC, following the storage in conditions ambient. The physiologic quality was valued through the germination test, first counting, conductivity electric and seedlings emergence. Also there was done sanitary analysis, evaluation of the activity of enzymes from the superoxide dismutase, catalase, esterase, lipoxigenase, isocitrato liase and LEA protein, and finally the analysis of images through ray X. The drying of seeds of cucumber, in ambient temperature, and to 35 ºC turns in seeds of better quality. LEA takes place reduction of the quality of the seeds and of the activity of the protein from six months of storage independent of the method of drying.

A profundidade de semeadura e a compactação do solo sobre a semente são específicas para cada cultura e dependem de vários atributos. Assim, objetivou-se avaliar a influência da compactação do solo sobre a semente e de diferentes profundidades de semeadura em um LATOSSOLO VERMELHO Eutroférrico típico na emergência e produtividade do amendoim. As cargas verticais impostas para compactação foram 0; 98,1; 196,2 e 294,3 N e as profundidades de semeadura de 0,04, 0,06 e 0,08 m. A compactação do solo na linha de semeadura não interferiu na produtividade da cultura. As profundidades de 0,04 e 0,06 m foram mais favoráveis para o desenvolvimento da cultura do amendoim. A interação profundidade versus compactação não apresentou correlação.

The sowing depth and compaction of the ground on seed are specific for each culture and depend on some attributes. Thus, are aimed to evaluate the influence of the compaction of ground on the seed in different sowing depths in a typical eutrustox red latosoil in peanut emergency and productivity. The vertical loads on the imposed for compacting were 0; 98.1; 196.2 and 294.3 N and sowing depths of 0.04, 0.06 and 0.08 m. The compaction of the ground in the sowing line did not interfere in the development of the culture. The depths of 0.04 and 0.06 m were more favorable for the growing of the culture of peanut. The interaction productivity versus compacting did not show correlation.
