Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é analisar o perfil das pessoas com deficiência dentre os casos notificados pelo painel COVID-19 do Espírito Santo e possíveis associações com o resultado positivo do teste COVID-19. Estudo Transversal descritivo entre as pessoas com deficiência com testes positivos e negativos para o diagnóstico de COVID-19. Foram realizadas associações das variáveis epidemiológicas e clínicas, utilizando o teste qui-quadrado e modelos de regressão logística para se estimar o odds ratio. A letalidade por COVID-19 foi de 4,9% (175 casos) no grupo das pessoas com deficiência, e 3% (3.016) no grupo sem deficiência. Pessoas com deficiência do sexo masculino (OR=1,34; IC95% 1,22-1,47), raça/cor preta (OR=1,55; IC95% 1,09-2,20), e as que ficaram internadas (OR=2,27; IC95% 1,71-3,02) apresentaram associação com testes positivos para COVID-19. A pandemia enfatiza a necessidade de criar mecanismos legais de cuidados específicos e políticas públicas focalizadas para essa população.

RESUMO Objetivo Verificar a associação entre vulnerabilidade clínico-funcional e autopercepção vocal e auditiva de idosos com histórico de hanseníase. Método Estudo transversal desenvolvido com 117 idosos de uma antiga colônia de hanseníase no sudeste do Brasil. Foram analisadas informações sociodemográficas, e os protocolos: Índice de Vulnerabilidade Clínico-funcional (IVCF-20), Hearing Handicap Inventory for the Elderly Screening Version (HHIE-S), Rastreio de Alteração Vocal em Idosos (RAVI) e Índice de Desvantagem Vocal 10 (IDV-10). O IVCF-20 classifica o idoso como robusto, em risco de fragilização e frágil. Para análise dos dados utilizou-se o modelo de regressão logística ordinal de chances proporcionais. Resultados 37,6% dos idosos foram classificados em robustos, 35,0% em risco de fragilização e 27,4% em frágeis. A alteração vocal (RAVI), desvantagem vocal (IDV-10) e restrição à participação auditiva (HHIE-S) foram observadas em 65,8%, 24,8% e 48,7% dos idosos, respectivamente. Na análise multivariada, verificou-se que idosos mais velhos (OR=1,11; IC: 1,05-1,16) e com desvantagem vocal (OR=4,11; IC 95%: 1,77-9,56) tiveram maiores chances de serem classificados como em risco de fragilização ou frágil. A presença simultânea de desvantagem vocal e restrição à participação auditiva (46,9%) foi maior entre os idosos frágeis. Conclusão O aumento da idade dos idosos e a presença de desvantagem vocal tem associação com a maior vulnerabilidade clínico-funcional. As altas prevalências de alterações vocais e auditivas reforçam a necessidade da inclusão do fonoaudiólogo nas políticas públicas voltadas ao cuidado de pessoas com histórico de hanseníase.

ABSTRACT Purpose Verifying the association between clinical-functional vulnerability and vocal and auditory self-perception in seniors presenting a history of leprosy. Methods Cross-sectional study encompassing 117 elderly people from an old leprosy colony in southeastern Brazil. The research analyzed sociodemographic information and the following protocols: Clinical-Functional Vulnerability Index-20 (IVCF-20), Hearing Handicap Inventory for the Elderly Screening Version (HHIE-S), Screening for Vocal Change in the Elderly (RAVI) and Vocal Handicap Index 10 (IDV-10). For data analysis, the ordinal logistic regression model of proportional odds was used. Results 37.6% of the elderly were classified as robust, 35.0% at risk of fragility and 27.4% as frail. Vocal alteration (RAVI), vocal handicap (IDV-10) and restriction to auditory participation (HHIE-S) were observed in 65.8%, 24.8% and 48.7% respectively, in the studied population. In the multivariate analysis, it was found the oldest group (OR = 1.11; CI: 1.05-1.16) and those with vocal handicap (OR = 4.11; 95% CI: 1.77-9.56) were more likely to be classified as at risk of fragility or already fragile. The simultaneous presence of vocal handicap and restriction of auditory participation (46.9%) was larger among frail elderly people. Conclusion The increasing age of the elderly and the presence of vocal handicap is associated with greater clinical-functional vulnerability. The high prevalence of both voice and hearing disorders reinforces the need for the speech therapist to be included in public policies, directed towards caring for people with a history of leprosy.

Abstract The Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) is the largest species of this genus, despite having broad distribution in the Americas; it is included in the main list of endangered species. Their conservation is widely studied, but there is a lack of studies about their morphology. In order to contribute to the knowledge of its reproductive system, five male and female ocelots were examined macro- and microscopically by histological techniques. Macroscopic analysis of the male reproductive system revealed presence of prostate and bulbourethral gland located caudally to the urinary bladder and a penis with small spicules. Microscopically, the testes were encased by the tunica albuginea and divided it into lobules with 5-10 tubules per lobe. In females, macroscopic analysis demonstrated two ovaries position dorsally in the sublumbar region and caudal to the kidneys. The bicornuate uterus is composed by uterine horns (12 to 14 cm in length), which travels from the ovaries in a caudal direction to form a small uterine body (4 cm in length). The ovary analysis revealed, in longitudinal section, medullary region composed of loose connective tissue, a stroma rich in blood vessels, and an external parenchymal region surrounded by a tunica albuginea. The results of the study confirmed the similarity between ocelot's reproductive system as domestic cat's ones and showing for the first time the complete morphological tool to highlight these organs and tissue in this male and female endangered wild felid specie. The present study open venue for other researchers to consider morphological and preservationist features and aimed to help at long-term conservation of wild felines.

Resumo Objetivos: investigar o padrão de sucção de recém-nascidos a termo na sucção não-nutritiva e sua relação com o desempenho destes na mamada. Métodos: estudo descritivo analítico, realizado de novembro de 2016 a março de 2017, com 50 díades mãe/recém-nascido, mediante avaliação da sucção não-nutritiva e observação direta do desempenho do recém-nascido na mamada. Os dados foram descritos por meio de frequências simples e relativas (percentuais) quando categóricas ou média, máximo, mínimo e desvio padrão quando contínuas, discretas ou ordinais. Para avaliar diferenças de média foi utilizado o teste T de Student com nível de significância de 5%. Resultados: houve diferenças significativas entre movimentação da mandíbula do recém-nascido e aspectos da pega (“boca do bebê pouco aberta” p=0,005), sucção (“esforço da bochecha durante a mamada” p<0,001) e posicionamento da díade mãe e recém-nascido (“mamas apoiadas com os dedos na aréola” p=0,041 e bebê com pescoço ou tronco torcidos” p=0,041). Conclusões: recém-nascidos que apresentaram alterações na movimentação da mandíbula na Sucção Não Nutritiva (SNN) tiveram também dificuldade na realização da mamada. O conhecimento do padrão de sucção do recém-nascido, através da avaliação da SNN mostrou-se como estratégia importante que pode auxiliar na identificação de possíveis dificuldades do recém-nascido durante a mamada.

Abstract Objectives: To investigate full term newborns suction pattern in non-nutritive suction and their feeding performance. Methods: An analytical descriptive study was carried out from November 2016 to March 2017, with 50 dyads mothers/newborns through the non-nutritive suction evaluation and a direct observation on the newborn's performance on feeding. The data were distributed through simple and relative frequencies (percentages) when categorical or by mean, maximum, minimum and the standard deviation when is continuous, discrete or ordinal. To evaluate the mean differences, the Student's t test was used with significance level of 5%. Results: There were significant differences among the newborn's mandible movement (“newborn's mouth slightly open” p=0,005), suction (“cheek strain during feeding” p<0,001) and dyad mother and newborn positioning (“breasts supported with fingers on the areola” p=0,041 and baby's neck or trunk turned” p=0,041). Conclusions: Newborns that presented changes in their mandible movement on the Non-Nutritive Suction (NNS) also presented difficulties in feeding. The newborn's knowledge on suction pattern through the NNS has proven to be an important strategy that may help identify possible difficulties during feeding.

Resumo Introdução Colocar a prática em palavras é tarefa árdua para terapeutas ocupacionais, considerando os aspectos narrativos da prática nas relações complexas e multifacetadas entre seres humanos e sociedade. A linguagem favorece a nomeação e a conceituação daquilo que se faz e abre esse espaço de compreensão e aprofundamento do conhecimento. Objetivo Discutir a necessidade de conceituação de termos para melhor delinear a prática profissional. Método Uma pesquisa-ação participativa, organizada como comunidade de prática para o desenvolvimento do raciocínio clínico, com participação de terapeutas ocupacionais iniciantes e experientes, teve seus dados analisados tematicamente, explicitando a construção de sentidos sobre a assistência em terapia ocupacional em saúde mental (especificidades práticas, teóricas e conceituais), à luz do Método Terapia Ocupacional Dinâmica. Resultados A reflexão sobre a prática compartilhada favoreceu a identificação de dilemas em torno de narrativas sobre a atividade terapêutica e, na medida em que foi ganhando clareza conceitual, favoreceu a valorização do contexto e das ações em terapia ocupacional. Conclusão Quando a prática é colocada como objeto de estudo, identificando-se enunciados capazes de representá-la, nosso campo profissional e de saber ganham clareza e possibilitam visibilidade a comunidades epistêmicas e de práticas mais críticas, delimitadas, coerentes, significativas e complexas.

Abstract Introduction Placing practice in words is an arduous task for occupational therapists by considering the narrative aspects of practice in the complex and multifaceted relationships between human beings and society. Language favors the naming and conceptualization of what is done and opens up space of understanding and deepening of knowledge. Objective To discuss the need to conceptualize terms to better delineate professional practice. Method A participatory action research, organized as a community of practice for the development of clinical reasoning, with the participation of novice and experienced occupational therapists, had its data analyzed thematically, highlighting the construction of meanings about care in occupational therapy in mental health (practical, theoretical and conceptual specificities), in the light of the Dynamic Occupational Therapy Method. Results The reflection on the shared practice favored the identification of dilemmas around the therapeutic activity and, as it gained conceptual clarity, favored the valuation of the context and the actions in occupational therapy. Conclusion When practice is placed as an object of study, identifying statements capable of representing it, our professional field of knowledge and practice gain clarity and provide visibility to practice and epistemic communities more critical, situated, coherent, meaningful and complex.

RESUMO O objetivo desse estudo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática de artigos científicos sobre o planejamento de ações motoras manuais de crianças típicas e atípicas. Para isso, foi feita uma busca de artigos publicados entre 1996 e 2017 nas bases de dados PubMed, Lilacs, Science Direct e SciELO. Foram incluídos artigos originais em língua inglesa e portuguesa, que avaliaram o planejamento de ações motoras em crianças típicas e atípicas por meio de tarefas manuais. Para a análise dos artigos, considerou-se a população, a faixa etária, o número de crianças, o tipo de tarefa, os principais resultados, o local de realização do estudo e o fator de impacto da revista. Ao todo, foram encontrados 18 artigos, sendo 12 com crianças típicas (9 meses a 20 anos de idade), e 6 com crianças atípicas (3 a 14 anos) diagnosticadas com autismo, paralisia cerebral hemiplégica e transtornos de déficit de coordenação. Nas crianças típicas, observa-se que a capacidade de planejamento de ações motoras manuais se desenvolve ao longo do tempo e se assemelha a de um adulto entre os 9 e 10 anos de idade. As crianças atípicas apresentaram capacidade de planejamento motor inferior à das crianças típicas e não foi possível determinar a idade em que essa habilidade de planejamento é estabelecida.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to make a systematic review of scientific articles on the planning of manual motor actions of typical and atypical children. To do so, a search of articles published between 1996 and 2017 was done on PubMed, LILACS, Science Direct, and SciElo databases. Original articles in English and Portuguese evaluating the planning of motor actions in typical and atypical children performing manual tasks were selected. For the analysis, the population age, number of children, type of task, main results, site of study and impact of the journal were considered. From the eighteen articles found, twelve were about typical children (from nine months old to twenty years old) and six about atypical children (from three to fourteen years old) diagnosed with autism, hemiplegic cerebral palsy, and developmental coordination disorders. In nine- to ten-year-old typical children, the planning ability of manual motor actions develops over the time and is similar to that of an adult. The atypical children showed motor planning ability lower than that of the typical children, and determining the age when this planning ability is acquired was not possible.

RESUMEN El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar una revisión sistemática de artículos científicos sobre la planificación de acciones motoras manuales de niños típicos y atípicos. Para ello, se realizó una búsqueda de artículos publicados entre 1996 y 2017 en las bases de datos PubMed, Lilacs, Science Direct y SciELO. Se incluyeron artículos originales en inglés y portugués que evaluaron la planificación de acciones motoras en niños típicos y atípicos a través de tareas manuales. Para el análisis de los artículos, se consideró la población, el grupo de edad, el número de niños, el tipo de tarea, los principales resultados, el lugar de realización del estudio y el factor de impacto de la revista. En total, se encontraron 18 artículos, 12 con niños típicos (9 meses a 20 años) y 6 con niños atípicos (3 a 14 años) diagnosticados con autismo, parálisis cerebral hemipléjica y trastornos de déficit de coordinación. En los niños típicos, se observa que la capacidad de planificación de acciones motoras manuales se desarrolla a lo largo del tiempo y entre los 9 y 10 años se asemeja a la de un adulto. Los niños atípicos presentaron una capacidad de planificación de motores inferior a la de los niños típicos y no fue posible determinar la edad en que se estableció esta capacidad de planificación.

Resumo Objetivo: descrever a atualização da estratificação dos municípios brasileiros para avaliação do desempenho em saúde. Métodos: estudo descritivo metodológico, com estratificação dos municípios segundo porte populacional e condições influentes da gestão em saúde, utilizando-se de dados do período intercensitário (2015) e apresentando as variações de classificação, mediante comparação com o período censitário (2010); a origem dos dados dos eixos de características demográficas, capacidade de financiamento e poder aquisitivo da população foi ajustada para 2015, a partir de estudo-base realizado com dados censitários. Resultados: cerca de 15% dos municípios foram reclassificados no período intercensitário, tendo como principais fatores de mudança os influentes de gestão em saúde. Conclusão: foi confirmada a necessidade de atualização intercensitária dessa classificação, uma vez que as condições socioeconômicas dos municípios variam em cinco anos; avaliações de desempenho da Atenção Básica devem considerar estratificações atualizadas, que contem condições de gestão para classificação.

Abstract Objective: to describe updating of stratification of the Brazilian municipalities in order to evaluate health performance. Methods: this was a descriptive and methodological study with stratification of municipalities according to population size and conditions influencing health management, using data from the intercensal period (2015) and showing classification variations compared with the census period (2010); the original data on demographic characteristics, funding capacity and population purchasing power were adjusted for the year 2015 based on a baseline study conducted with census data. Results: some 15% of the municipalities were reclassified in the intercensal period, with the main factors of change being the conditions influencing health management. Conclusion: the need for intercensal updating of this form of classification was confirmed, given that the socioeconomic conditions of the municipalities vary in the five-year period; Primary Health performance evaluation should consider updated stratifications that include management conditions for the purpose of classification.

Métodos: estudio descriptivo metodológico con estratificación de los municipios según tamaño poblacional y condiciones influyentes de la gestión en salud, utilizando datos del período intercensal (2015) y presentando las variaciones de clasificación comparado al período censal (2010). El origen de los datos de los ejes de características demográficas, capacidad de financiación y poder adquisitivo de la población tuvieron su origen ajustado para 2015 a partir de estudio-base realizado con datos censales. Resultados: cerca de 15% de los municipios fueron reclasificados en el período intercensal, teniendo como principales factores de cambio las influencias de la gestión en salud. Conclusión: se confirmó la necesidad de actualización intercensal de esta clasificación, ya que las condiciones socioeconómicas de los municipios varían en cinco años. Las evaluaciones de desempeño de la Atención Primaria deben considerar estratificaciones actualizadas y que contengan condiciones de gestión para la clasificación.

Abstract Different responses are observed in plants after infection by pathogens. The usage of systemic inducers, whether biotic or abiotic, has the function to increase the enzymatic production of the plant defense system. In that sense, our present research aims to evaluate the disease severity of anthracnose in the cowpea cultivar “sempre-verde” infected with Colletotrichum lindemuthianum URM 5771 and subjected to both biotic and abiotic resistance inducers, as well as evaluate the enzymatic activity of plant defense. The experiment was performed in a greenhouse with a completely randomized split-plot design with six treatments: four abiotic plant resistance inducers, acibenzolar-S-methyl, β-aminobutyric acid, chitosan, and salicylic acid; one biotic inducer, the filamentous fungi Trichoderma aureoviride URM 5158; and a control with only water. The plant leaves were sampled at four time points, 4, 8, 12 and 20 days after inoculation with the plant pathogen, to measure the enzymatic activity of β-1,3-glucanase, catalase, peroxidase, polyphenoloxidase, and protease. The abiotic inducers acibenzolar-S-methyl, β-aminobutyric acid, and chitosan and the biotic inducer presented the highest potential in reducing the anthracnose caused by C. lindemuthianum URM 5771 in cowpea plants by showing the lowest values of injury severity over time. The disease progression showed a proportionate shift in enzymatic activity in that the inducers salicylic acid and T. aureoviride URM 5158 promoted the highest enzymatic activity when compared to the other inducers. High correlations between the enzymatic activity of peroxidase and polyphenoloxidase and anthracnose severity were observed in cowpea plants. The use of abiotic and biotic resistance inducers presents high potential for anthracnose control in cowpea plants; however, more studies should be carried out covering different environments, plant cultivars and climatic conditions.

Resumen Se observan diferentes respuestas en la planta después de la infección por patógenos. El uso de inductores sistémicos ya sean bióticos o abióticos tiene la función de aumentar la producción enzimática del sistema de defensa de la planta. En ese sentido, nuestra presente investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar la severidad de la enfermedad en plantas de caupí cultivares “sempre-verde” infectadas con Colletotrichum lindemuthianum URM 5771, el agente de la antracnosis, y sometidas a inductores de resistencia tanto bióticos como abióticos, así como estimular la enzimática actividad de defensa de planta. El experimento se realizó en invernadero con un diseño de parcelas divididas completamente aleatorizado en el tiempo, con seis tratamientos: cuatro inductores de resistencia de plantas abióticas acibenzolar-S-metilo, ácido β-aminobutírico, quitosano y ácido salicílico, un inductor biótico, los hongos filamentosos Trichoderma aureoviride URM 5158, y un control con solo agua. Las hojas de la planta se muestrearon en cuatro puntos de tiempo, 4, 8, 12 y 20 días después de la inoculación del patógeno de la planta, para medir la actividad enzimática de la β-1,3-glucanasa, la catalasa, la peroxidasa, la polifenoloxidasa y la proteasa. Los inductores abióticos acibenzolar-S-metil, β-aminobutírico, quitosano y el inductor biótico presentaron el mayor potencial para reducir la antracnosis causada por C. lindemuthianum URM 5771 en las plantas de caupí al mostrar los valores más bajos en la escala de severidad de las lesiones a lo largo del tiempo. La progresión de la enfermedad proporcionó un cambio en la actividad enzimática donde los inductores de ácido salicílico y T. aureoviride URM 5158 promovieron la actividad enzimática más alta en comparación con los otros inductores. Se observaron altas correlaciones entre la actividad enzimática de la peroxidasa y la polifenoloxidasa y la severidad de la antracnosis en las plantas de caupí. El uso de inductores de resistencia abióticos y bióticos presenta un alto potencial para la lucha contra la antracnosis en las plantas de caupí, sin embargo, se deben realizar más estudios que cubran diferentes ambientes, variedades de plantas y condiciones climáticas.

OBJECTIVES: Inflammatory molecules play a role in the development of atherosclerosis, which is the primary origin of cardiovascular disorders. However, to the best of our knowledge, no study has attempted to investigate the relationship between these circulating molecules and the prediction of cardiovascular risk. The present study aimed to investigate the relationships of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, E-selectin and matrix metalloproteinase 9 serum concentrations with the extent of coronary lesions. METHODS: Seventy-four individuals who were undergoing coronary angiography for the first time for diagnostic purposes were enrolled in this study. The extent of the coronary lesion was assessed using the Friesinger Index, and subjects were classified into four groups: no lesions, minor lesions, intermediate lesions and major lesions. Serum biochemical parameters and serum concentrations of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, E-selectin and matrix metalloproteinase 9 were analyzed. RESULTS: The vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 concentration was higher than 876 ng/mL in individuals with intermediate and major lesions (p<0.001 and p=0.020, respectively). Moreover, logistic regression analysis showed that these patients had an increased risk of having an intermediate lesion (p=0.007). Interestingly, all individuals with major lesions had vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 concentrations higher than 876 ng/mL. No association was found between the concentrations of the other proteins and the Friesinger Index. CONCLUSIONS: Serum vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 may be associated with the extent of coronary lesions. Moreover, it may represent an alternative to improve the cardiovascular risk classification in patients without acute coronary syndrome.

BACKGROUND The time of progression towards AIDS can vary greatly among seropositive patients, and may be associated with host genetic variation. The NR1I2 (PXR) gene, a ligand-activated transcription factor, regulates the transcription immune pathway genes and can therefore be targets of viral replication mechanisms influencing time of progression to AIDS. OBJECTIVE To verify the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) rs3814057, rs6785049, rs7643645, and rs2461817 in the NR1I2 (PXR) gene with progression to AIDS in HIV-1 infected patients. METHODS Blood samples were obtained from 96 HIV-1 positive individuals following informed consent. DNA was isolated and genotyped through real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the presence of SNPs in the NR1I2. Questionnaires on socio-demographic features and behaviors were answered and time of progression to AIDS was estimated based on medical chart analysis. FINDINGS Patients with the GG genotype for rs7643645 were shown to be related with a more rapid disease progression when compared to GA and AA genotypes. This result was maintained by the Multivariate Cox Regression considering sex, ethnicity, and presence of HLA-B*57, HLA-B*27, and CCR5del32 polymorphisms. MAIN CONCLUSIONS Recent studies reported the expression of the nuclear receptors in T-Lymphocytes, suggesting their possible role in the immune response. In addition, nuclear receptors have been shown to inhibit the HIV replication, although no such mechanism has been thoroughly elucidated to date. This is the first time an association between NR1I2 polymorphism and time of progression to AIDS is reported and supports an apparent relationship between the gene in the immune response and identifies another genetic factor influencing AIDS progression.

ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk development. However, the mechanisms of reduced kidney function with CVD risk are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the association between kidney function and Framingham risk score (FRS) in participants with traditional cardiovascular risk factors and normal estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) > 60 mL/min/1.73 m² in an admixed population of Brazil. The participants were divided into three groups according to FRS: low risk group with 0% to <10%, moderate risk group with ≥10% to 20% and high risk group with >20%. The eGFR was calculated using Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI). Data from participants were collected by questionnaire, and blood and urine samples were collected to analyze biochemical markers. A total of 214 subjects aged 53±10 years old was collected. There were 77 individuals in low risk group, 59 in moderate risk group and 78 in high-risk group. Mean eGFRCKD-EPI was 89.39±15.05 mL/min/1.73 m² and 90.74±16.17 mL/min/1.73 m2 when race adjustment. The results indicated that there is an increasing the cardiovascular risk with a decreased of eGFR, conforming to a significant inverse correlation observed between eGFR and FRS with Spearman correlation (R²=-0.256, p<0.001; R²=-0.224, p=0.001, when adjusted for race). There was a statistically significant difference in eGFRCKD-EPI (p<0.001) and eGFRCKD-EPI with race adjustment (p=0.002) among risk groups. The data suggests that the reduction eGFR is associated with elevated FRS among Brazilian adults without CKD. Furthermore, the results suggest that race adjustment it’s not necessary in Brazilian population.

RESUMO Objetivo: comparar o impacto da voz na qualidade de vida de professoras no momento inicial e após alta fonoterápica e identificar os fatores associados. Métodos: estudo observacional prospectivo, por meio de informações coletadas em dois momentos: dados secundários dos prontuários e questionários online, após alta fonoaudiológica. Participaram da pesquisa 54 professoras, encaminhadas pelo serviço ocupacional municipal com o diagnóstico de disfonia, para o Ambulatório de Fonoaudiologia de um Hospital de ensino. A fonoterapia ocorreu entre janeiro de 2012 e dezembro de 2013. As informações de interesse foram: respostas ao Protocolo do Perfil de Participação e Atividades Vocais, número de sintomas vocais, questões relativas às condições de trabalho e hábitos de vida. Realizou-se análise descritiva e inferencial por meio de um programa estatístico. Resultados: houve redução no relato de sintomas ao comparar os momentos pré e pós-fonoterapia. Quanto às medianas dos parâmetros do protocolo supracitado nos dois momentos, observou-se que os grupos se diferenciaram em comunicação social e em emoção. Para estes parâmetros houve diferença estatística entre os grupos em relação à ausência de ruído gerado em sala de aula. As demais variáveis independentes não se diferenciaram entre os grupos. Conclusão: a intervenção fonoaudiológica traz impacto positivo sobre a voz de professoras em relação aos fatores comportamentais e ocupacionais. A melhora é evidenciada pela redução do número de sintomas vocais relatados após alta fonoaudiológica. Após fonoterapia, há menor limitação da disfonia nas atividades vocais relacionadas à comunicação social e emoção, principalmente diante da ausência de ruído em sala de aula.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to compare the impact of voice on the quality of teachers' life before the speech therapy and follow-up after high therapy and identify associated factors. Methods: observational study, based on information collected in two stages: secondary data from medical records and questionnaires on line, after rising speech. The participants were 54 teachers, sent by the municipal occupational service with the diagnosis of dysphonia, for the Speech Therapy Clinic of a Teaching hospital. Speech therapy occurred from January 2012 to December 2013. The information of interest were responses to the Voice Activity and Participation Profile, number of vocal symptoms, issues relating to working conditions and living habits. A descriptive and inferential analysis using a statistical program. Results: there was a decrease in reported symptoms when comparing the before and post speech therapy. As for the medians of the parameters of the above-mentioned protocol on both occasions, the groups differed in of social communication and in emotion. For these parameters were no statistical differences between the groups regarding the absence of noise generated in the classroom. The other independent variables did not differ between groups. Conclusion: speech therapy brings positive impact on the voice of teachers in relation to behavioral and occupational factors. The improvement is evidenced by the reduction in the number of reported vocal symptoms after high speech. After speech therapy, there is lower limit of dysphonia vocal activities related to social communication and emotion, especially in the absence of noise in the classroom.

Abstract Cutaneous schistosomiasis is a rare clinical manifestation of schistosomiasis, an infectious and parasitic disease, caused in Brazil by the trematode Schistosoma mansoni. The lesions are due to the deposition of eggs or, rarely, adult worms, usually involving the genital and groin areas. Extra-genital lesions occur mainly on the torso as papules of zosteriform appearance. The case of a patient with ectopic cutaneous schistosomiasis is reported in this article, due to the rarity of its occurrence and its difficult clinical diagnosis.
